Married on the beach in Hanalei Bay around 5pm with a storm about 1 mile away. We spent 5 days in Kauai and 5 days in Maui. It rained at least an hour every day. Great weather the entire time (I like rain). The water was freezing cold. We are used to Gulf of Mexico temps.

The Road to Hana:

36 miles of trees, rivers, mudslides, falling rocks, and waterfalls. 675+ turns and 51 one lane sections. Averaged about 25 mph in Chevy Cavalier. Along North Central shore to Eastern shore of Maui.

Haleakala:

Maui Pics - Haleakala National Park, Ohe'o Gulch (Seven Pools) - In Hana. 2 mile hike through mosquitoes, gauva trees, mosquitoes, slippery rocks (just ask Phaedra), bamboo forest, mosquitoes, streams, mosquitoes, and mud to get to Waimoku Falls, a 400' waterfall. Also saw mosquitoes. K-mart was out of bug spray. Got to watch out for that Dengue Fever! Did I mention mosquitoes? Did I mention no bug spray!

Haleakala:

Get picked up by a van at 2:00 in the morning for a 60 mile ride to Haleakala vistor center to watch the sun come up (very slowly) in freezing weather wearing shorts and a rain suit. 40 mile bike ride all downhill except for about 300 yards. It better be, the bikes weighed about 50 pounds! About half way it warmed up. Then it got hot!

Luau Pics:

Luau at the Royal Lahaina Resort Hotel. Good food! Imu cooked pig and turkey. Steak, chicken, salmon, mahi mahi and poi! We sat next to two couples that were on the bike tour earlier in the day. The TV show "Blind Date" was there. In line to get food there was a couple on the 50th wedding aniversy in front of us, and another on their 25th behind us. We were on day 6!
